Internships

Internships are a key component of experiential education at K, and an important way for students to gain the relevant workplace experience sought by today’s employers.

According to the latest National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) survey of employers, 64.2% of employers prefer to hire candidates with relevant work experience.

The CCPD encourages all students to conduct at least one internship during their time at K. When considering internships, students should investigate the hundreds of internship programs across the country and review postings on Handshake. CCPD career coaches can work with students interested in creating their own internships through networking.

K students conduct internships around the world in a wide variety of fields, gaining skills and experience and building relationships with the alumni and other professionals who serve as their supervisors. The most common time to conduct internships is during the summer, although internships can also take place during winter break and part-time during the academic year.
