K in the Zoo – Spring Break 2026 Local Job Shadows (Student Application)

March 18-27, 2026

K in the Zoo connects Kalamazoo College students with alumni and local professionals for short, high-impact job shadow experiences. During Spring Break, students spend 1-3 days observing a workplace, asking questions, and learning directly from professionals about their career paths and day-to-day work.

Job shadows are a low-pressure way to explore careers and make professional connections. No prior experience in the field is required.

Note: Students who applied for or participated in Winter Break Day job shadows are still eligible to apply for Spring Break and may participate in both programs.

Program Details

  • Date: March 18-27, 2026 (host availablity listed, matches will confirm date(s) that work for both host/student)
  • Location: Kalamazoo area
  • Time commitment: Varies by host (typically 6–8 hours)
  • Eligibility: Open to current K students
  • Cost: Free. Students are responsible for their own transportation. Uber/Lyft reciepts will be reimbursed. Lunch receipts reimbursed up to $20.

Note: You will not actually be shadowing Lauren, but rather Lauren will be coordinating your job shadow based on your interests.
